I adore this seriously mod and futuristic maxi dress from Brenner couture. The combination of cut and design work perfectly together in this beauty and I love the final result. A deep navy base in a knit wool jersey has a simple cut - sleeveless and a deep V neck are the perfect top to the A-line cut skirt. It is what has been done to that skirt that makes this one so phenomenal though! The entire skirt is covered with a floral design done in a silver plastic with each flower set in an amongst a silver grid. The way this catches the light is fabulous and the very use of the fabric and jersey underneath keep the skirts shape perfectly. It has its original matching belt that has the same design across its surface. Its remarkable and an outstanding piece from this era. Excellent condition.
The top is lined with a blue silky rayon and the skirt unlined. It closes with a back painted metal zipper. The belt closes with snaps and hook & eye. I see very mild beginnings of pilling on the jersey but this is a natural occurrence of aging with this fabric and its very very minor. I am being pretty picky.
